5 ways to find your motivation
When you’re feeling motivated, you have the potential to achieve your goals. However, sometimes we can’t always find out motivation and this affects how productive we are. It’s easier to find your motivation than you might think – I have five tips to share with you so that you can be motivated to reach your potential.
Have a productive morning
Achieving those big goals is a lot easier when you start the day off the right way. By completing a few tasks in the morning, like sorting out your laundry or picking out your outfits for the week, you will already start to feel more motivated to carry on the day just as productive. Mornings can be a rush, so these tasks don’t have to be big; the feeling of completing a task is what’s important.
Create a schedule
It’s hard to motivate yourself for a big task when you see it in its entirety. If you know you have a lot of work to do, you’ll be put off doing it. Instead, break it up into manageable chunks. If you outline how you intend to carry out your day, you can make the work seem much less overwhelming. Try and complete the most challenging parts of your work early on if you can, so that you don’t have chance to put it off.
Remember the bigger picture
Work can get repetitive. When you feel like you do the same thing all the time, it’s hard to stay motivated. However, you need to remember why you’re doing it in the first place. Are you saving up for your own house? Working for a promotion? If you can’t find a bigger picture, it may mean that it’s time to find your purpose and your motivation should be used to find new goals.
Surround yourself with motivated people
You don’t notice how much of an effect the people around you have until you spend time with someone else who is motivated. They can give you the push you need to carry out the tasks ahead. This is part of the chameleon effect – when you spend time with someone, you start to pick up their mannerisms and behaviour. When you surround yourself in positivity, it’s much easier to stay positive.
Give yourself a break
The best way to lose your motivation is to overwork yourself. It’s good to utilize the times that you are feeling motivated but don’t try and push yourself further than your limits. Make sure you give yourself downtime. You can fill this time with hobbies and interests so that you feel motivated even when you’re having fun.
In the meantime, live life with Joy! x
