What happened at my Single with a Purpose event!
Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to my Single with a Purpose event in Swansea on the 11th of July – it was a truly fantastic evening!
For those who were unable to make it, don’t worry! This post will detail everything you missed and give you some pieces of advice shared on the evening.
The evening started with guests getting to know each other over a glass of prosecco and some canapes – what better way to start an event?! Stories were shared, friends were made and then we got stuck into the main reason we were all there – to feel empowered, confident and ready to find our soulmate.
Once we were all gathered, I started the event by sharing my past experiences with relationships and self-love. The beginning of my journey to love didn’t start out the way I had planned, but after I realised my worth, I attracted my soulmate, and we are still together, after 24 amazing years of marriage.
This event was all about empowering and motivating the audience and helping them to find their purpose whether single or in a relationship. I really wanted to convey the message that a relationship does not define you or your self-worth, but it’s how you treat yourself that’s important.
It’s virtually impossible to love someone when you don’t love yourself, which is why I felt it was so important to speak to the audience about this and share my personal experiences.
Soon it was time for our fantastic guest panel to come on stage for our live Q&A segment of the evening! These wonderful speakers were Andrew Penhale, Sabrina Amofa, and Ben Donovan. Together, they answered the audience’s burning questions about all things dating, including how to love yourself and be confidently single.
Sabrina was incredible at empowering the audience with her strong and independent personality. She radiated self-worth and confidence, which really inspired everyone in the room.
Both Andrew and Ben discussed the minefield that is the online dating world, with Ben being an advocate of offline dating! They initiated a lot of laughs and were hugely relatable to the audience, creating a sense of solidarity in the face of modern dating.
During this, the audience pulled their chairs closer to the panel which really gave a sense of intimacy to the event. This feeling of solidarity and empowerment actually enabled some audience members to share their own past experiences.
This raw vulnerability and emotion are really what I wanted the event to capture, showing everyone in the audience they are not alone in feeling this way, and the difficulties in finding who you are, your empowerment, confidence and finally your soulmate is a common problem. I am so happy that my guests felt comfortable enough to share their personal stories.
The event closed with guests feeling empowered, strong, and confident. I could tell that each individual had a new sense of self-worth and self-appreciation, which is exactly what I envisioned.
What matters the most to me is that my guests left feeling empowered and confident and most importantly, left with a sense of PURPOSE! Meeting everyone one-to-one at the end of the event was amazing as it allowed me to have personal chats with all who attended and tell them how important and amazing they truly are.
I cannot wait for my next one. See you there!
